BACK-UP PEDALBOARD w/ TECH 21 SANS-AMP GT2

Since you need to be ready for all types of failures in your Guitar Rig, (i.e. Guitar, Effects, PowerAmp, Speakers, etc.), this Pedal Board is to be used as a back-up for a DIGITAL MODELLER. (AXE FX, HELIX, Amplifire, Kemper etc...)

The following devices are mounted on the pedalboard...

  1. Dunlop MIni Crybaby Wah Pedal
  2. T.C. Electronic PolyTune Mini Tuner
  3. Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini
  4. Tech21 SansAmp GT2
  5. Tech21 Boost D.L.A. Delay
  6. Voodoo Lab ISO5 Power Supply

schematic

The SansAmp GT2 gets you your basic rhythm guitar sound with the option of adding a Tube Screamer Overdrive, a Crybaby Wah or a Delay Pedal with Boost. The latter allows you to clean-boost your existing sound and add Delay for a Solo..., but, what if you want to add the Tubescreamer and Clean-Boost with Delay?... can you say "tap-dance"!

In this pedalboard there is a Link Footswitch that triggers the Boost D.L.A. when the Tube Screamer is activated... No Tap-dancing!

This integration required numerous modifications to the system components...

CRYBABY MINI WAH MOD

The Factory Crybaby MINI has an internal HI / LO / MED Range switch underneath the cover.... This makes it difficult to try different sounds without flipping the pedal over and removing the bottom plate. The internal switch was moved to the side of the Wah Pedal making it easily acccesible...

TUBE SCREAMER MOD

The Tube Screamer's 3PDT footswitch was replaced with a 4PDT to allow an additional isolated signalling switch when the Tube Screamer is activated...

The wire goes to the Link Footswitch via a 1/8" TS jack.

BOOST D.L.A. MOD

The Tube Screamer footswitch is Latching and the Boost D.L.A. footswitch is Momentary. Since the Tube Screamer will be signalling the Boost D.L.A. to turn on and off, the Boost D.L.A. will need to convert a Latching signal to a momentary signal. This is made possible via a small circuit mounted in the D.L.A. pedal.

LINK SWITCH

The Link Switch can interrupt the control-signal path between the Tube Screamer and Boost D.L.A. so that those effects can operate independantly. If the Link Switch LED is "ON": when you Activate the Tube Screamer the Boost D.L.A. is also turned on to give you a solo clean-boost with delay and a solo overdrive.
